Daie, Scholar & Sharia
I stumble upon this video on Aneesah FB and after I listened to the talk, I just have the urge to share it.
Just to make it easier for some of you who have a slow internet connection. Here are the excerpt from his talk that I really wanted to share with all of you. Please feel free to correct me if it’s wrong. I wrote it by myself by repeating playing the video.

A daei job is to take from what the scholar say and then reiterate that and communicate that to the masses of people while understanding their limit. A daei need to understand his or her limit. There’s a certain area in Islamic study that…. a daei should not enter into…. about scholarly issues that lead to conflict. Or that lead to very intense differences of opinions that only suitable for scholar. That beyond the scope of someone like myself.
I will give you a practical example so you know what I’m talking about. Somebody come up to me today and said;
“Brother, I have a mohawk. Is it halal? Cuz my friend tell me its haram.”
I said “I dont know”.
“Owh come one, what do you think? Tell me.”
I said “I think something but I wont tell you.”
“Is it so you are saying its haram?”
“I didnt said that. I would never say that.”
“Then why wouldnt you tell me?”
