Music Is Not My Thing

Er. Kpop lain cerita. Hahaha.

Tak tak. Ni bukan pasal Kpop lagi. Ni pasal music as a whole. Err. Baiklah. Straight to the point. Ni pasal Boneca. Yea yea. Saffa memang outdated. Kan dah cakap, Music is not my thing. =.=”

Saffa jarang ‘cari’ lagu. Biasanya lagu tu akan datang pada Saffa. Haah. Betul lah tu. Dia datang bergolek macam nangka busuk kat depan Saffa! =_____= Maksud Saffa, Saffa bukan kaki Muzik yang suka jalan-jalan dekat MySpace music atau YouTube, usya-usya indie bands or whatsoever.

Bukan juga Kaki Carta Era, Hot Fm, Top Muzik Muzik and whatsoever. What’s wrong if Saffa dengar lagu yang dah outdated? Kpop memang selalu kena updated, mana boleh outdated! Hahaha.

Jap. Boneca. Ya, Boneca. Diorang muncul pada tahun 2008. Sekarang ni dah tahun 2010.. Hahaha. Giler outdated! Eyh tak tak tak. Music kan TIMELESS. =P

Why Boneca?

Boneca is a portugese word for playdoll. it is where the malay word ‘boneka’ rooted from.

Why playdoll? because basically boneca is a girl band and playdoll reminds us of childhood memories… so that we will never forget how to have fun like we used to. and no get too caught up in today’s world. who say adults have to be boring?

Playdolls are to be played. not to be taken too seriously. we want to enjoy making music. we don’t want to burden ourselves and worry about impressing people. we’re not here to satisfy anyone. we are here to please ourselves. because in the end, it all comes down to YOU.

Patung. Peran. Pelakon. the world is a stage. we are the actors. we have different roles and different functions, thus different responsibilities. all of us know how it feels to be played and to be used. and sorrow has always been a great source to creativity.

When should we play our part? how do we know that we have been used? even a playdoll has to be smart. singing our hearts out to make ourselves happy. not them. not anyone else.

After all, a playdoll always has a smile on her face, hasn’t she? and hey, if she makes other people happy too, that’s a bonus.

Recently, a lot of people have been asking us pretty much about the same thing. so here are the answers:

1. Boneca is not a deadly-serious band. we don’t plan on an album or a gig or good lord, a concert. we just want to hang out, sing, and play, and laugh at ourselves.

2. We are not full time musicians. to tell you the truth, we are not even qualified to be called ‘musicians’. we have our own commitments and goals.

3. We admit that we are a zillion miles far from good. but we are not going to make our songs perfect just to get compliments and fame.

4. We record our songs at home. we don’t have bombastic instruments and equipments. there won’t be any sound of electric guitar (for now). we enjoy acoustic and classical very much. they make us feel more… relax.

5. The objective of boneca is to make us stick friends. music is a bridge for us to spend time together. and that’s about it.

Please don’t get us wrong. we love questions. because when you ask, we know someone is listening to us, and we feel flattered. we also love comments. because that’s the only way for us to know our ugly flaws. but we do hope you understand our purpose. we truly appreciate the support that we have been getting lately (in myspace). god knows how they put a big smile on our faces. THANK YOU. we are nobody, you see. we’re just this tiny singing doll in a huge toy store.

As stated on their Myspace Page URL. Boneca BUKAN BAND. Boneca just a bunch of friends HAVING FUN. Listen what is HAVING FUN (Demo Cela). Saffa tak tau apa yang berlaku sampai Boneca hilangkan diri. Tapi Saffa pasti, Boneca masih Boneca. Masih having fun. And even if they’re not together anymore, ‘Boneca’ was the best damn thing happen to them.

“Boneca” ni macam GENG. Sampai satu masa, everyone HAVE to go to their own directions and split. Setiap orang ada tanggungjawab masing-masing dan komitmen yang tersendiri. And, Saffa pasti.. Once in a while, they would look back and smile, reminiscing the good old times together as a GENG. That’s Boneca. =)
